Domains, Networks and Email Objects are Mailborder the components used when calculating license capability. Under normal circumstances, if a policy is created to manage an object, it is used in license calculation. However, whitelsits and blacklsits are not used in this calculation.
Managed Domains
Managed domains are domains that have specific Process Policies, File Extension Policies, File MIME Policies, Whitelist Policies, and Blacklist Policies applied to them for filtering and email processing. These domains are normally inbound domains, or the recipient domain in an email. However, policies can be created to manage external domains.
Creating separate policies for managed domains is calculated during licensing. For example, if you add a domain with a flow of "To" and then add the same domain again with a flow of "From" because you wish to apply different policies for inbound and outbound email, the licensing will increase by 2. If the same domain is added only once with a flow of "From or To", then the licensing will increase by 1.
Note that under normal circumstances a single policy of "To" for a hosted domain is all that is required.

Managed Networks
Managed networks are handled exactly the same as Managed Domains when calculating licensing. The same rules apply for "From", "To", and "From or To" policy management.

Managed Email Objects
Managed email objects are handled exactly the same as Managed Domains when calculating licensing. The same rules apply for "From", "To", and "From or To" policy management.
Adding a managed email object is typically used when you want a single user or device to have a more or less restrictive policy settings than the rest of the domain or network you are managing.

Unmanaged Domains, Networks and Email Objects
Unmanaged items are items that you do not have a policy assigned to manage. For example, user@example.com sends an email to one of your users. That email address, domain name, and network are not used in Mailborder licensing unless there is a specific policy created to manage any part of user@example.com.
Objects contained within Whitelists and Blacklists are not used in calculating license capabilities.
